Reader Discretion Advised (Gross)

So for those of you unaware, I had this big abscess on my leg that was really nasty, it was basically a big cist. On Thursday I had just arrived at my meet in Huntington Beach, and I had realized that it totally got cut open. So my mom came and got me and we went on our merry way to the doctor. The doc gave me three options:

1. Leave it and try antibiotics, but it will come back eventually

2. Cut it and help it drain a little, it will come back eventually

3. Cut the whole thing out, and it wont come back

So my mother and I weighed our options and chose choice 3, because he said that I would probably have to stay out of the water 3-4 days, big deal. So we proceed to numb half my leg(hurt so bad I almost passed out), and then cut it out, one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen in my life. So at the end instead of sewing it back up, which seems to make sense to everyone except the doctor, he decided to just let it heal naturally. He stuffed a bunch of gauze in it and just wrapped it. Psycho! So I have this gaping hole in the side of my leg, and I am thinking I will have to take the gauze out everyday and replace it, but no! He said I should just take it out the next day and put a band aid over it. What?! This guy is on drugs. So in the 24 hours after the surgery I had to replace the bandages twice it was bleeding so much.

It gets to 24 hours after, and I decide to get in the shower to take out the packing. It had proceeded to stick to the sides and after I finally got it out it bled like crazy. So much so I have probably been through 20 feet of gauze. It now hurts more than before, considering it didn't hurt before. No lie it looks like a bad bullet wound, so I am still curious why I didn't get stitches. All I have to say is I have no idea how I am going to be able to swim with this, and if I am out for the rest of the season I am going to be beyond mad.
