I Am So Loving Life

A couple days, I was talking with one of my good friends, Stephen Luna, you may know him. This is just a minor detail if you don't know him, feel free to continue. We were chatting, and I was talking about how I felt like re-reading the 7th Harry Potter book because it was so dang good, and then he said how he was on the 2nd book; as he was re-reading the complete series over.

Can you say, "inspiration"?!?!?!

So I was searching the house last week and could not find the first book, what a sin! So on Sunday afternoon, it was quite gloomy with finals approaching, I made my way over to my local borders and purchased the gem of a novel, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. I then proceeded on with my day of studying with Mary, and watching my aunt paint my room(but that is a whole 'nother blog in itself :]), and other various activities. Once I finished all my studying for that night, I cracked HP open and began my quest.

I have only read the first book once, and it was back in third grade. I have completely forgotten the magic that J.K. Rowling overflowed this book with. I have seen the movie countless times and it so does not do it justice, but in all honestly, do movies ever compare?

So after a good hour and a half I am 5 chapters in and in love.

I will keep you updated on my quest, my goal is to finish the series by graduation. I'm sure it will be done before that, but baby steps.

Let The Countdown Begin!

Winterformal 2008 is in T-minus one week! I am thoroughly excited for WF this year because we have an amazing group, I have an amazing date, and it is just going to be epic, anyway you look at it. I am so excited for this group because it has pretty much everyone of my friends in it: Austin, Mary, Stephen, Tony, Casey, Kevin, Fareed, Mel, Callie, Lisa, Lindsey, Katherine, Amanda, Kellie, Megan Ng, and tons others that I am just not thinking of, I mean there is 48 of us, so name someone and they are bound to be in our group. We are going to hit up BJ's for some delicious grub. Then, we are going to go nuts down at Soka.

Going to get the tux tomorrow.
Can't wait.

Friday, Friday, Friday!

Friday, better known to some as the best day of the entire week, is less than 2 hours away! I thought this day would never come. Tomorrow afternoon we are going to the mountains for some snowboarding. A bunch of people are blowing off 5th period so we can get up there as soon as possible. Can I get a, "Woot Woot!"? Yes, tomorrow at around 2:00pm myself, Austin, Amanda, Lisa, Fareed, Melanie, Stephen, Megan, and maybe Kevin, Graham, and Robbie, will be well on our way to Arrowhead, only bummer is my honeybee won't be there. We are going to head up, and maybe get in a night session Friday night, but who knows? We will board all day Saturday and come home either that night or Sunday morning. Oh my gosh, I am so excited, can't wait! Only two downfalls tomorrow, morning practice, and math. Boo! Oh well I'll get over it.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Go You!

Today, I had just received cash moneys after returning some snowboarding goggles so I decided to make a T-shirt run. I cruise down to T-Shirts Plus, off El Toro. That is by far one of my favorite stores ever, where else can you get three brand spankin' new T-shirts for $10.78??!?!! No where, that's where! So I just wanted to say, "T-Shirts Plus, Go you!"

February 19th!

Make sure at 10:00 a.m. on CBS you tune into...

The Price Is Right

Yup we went to The Price Is Right on Tuesday. It was a blast-and-a-half. I will give you the "deets" in time frame format. Away we go:

4:00 am- Wake up(yes, very long day).

4:30 am- Lisa and Katie pick me and Austin up.

5:45 am- We are standing in line at CBS studios, we were approximately 120th in line, at 5:45 in the morning! The first people in line got there at 2:00, get a life.

6:00 am- We have already cried twice from laughing so hard, it is going to be a good day.

6:15 am- We are given our place in line ticket and told to return at 7:45

6:16 am- Head across the street to a little place for some bagels.

6:18 am- The line shoots out the door, damn do we have good timing or what?

6:30 am- Head back to the parking structure that we parked in, I'd say close to half mile away from where the line was, with all the walking to and from elevators and what not.

6:35 am- Decide just to head back to the studio since an hour is just enough time to do nothing.

6:40 am- Nearly all the way there, Lisa realizes she forgot her place in line ticket.

6:50 am- Grabs tickets. Then we decide that we have to find a bathroom before we head back because we have to pee so bad, and we are not sure if there is one there. So we cruise The Grove(which is extremely nice, by the way) searching high and low, but of course nothing is open.

7:00 am- A gardener speaking broken English(correction: barely even English) tells us where a bathroom is, but the directory says otherwise so we head in another direction.

7:05 am- A security guard says we can just use the employee restroom.

7:08 am- The man in the restroom says otherwise. Ugh! What do some kids have to do to get a freaking toilet?

7:10 am- The polite man who lovingly wouldn't let us use the restroom points us in the direction of a "nicer, cleaner" bathroom(the one the gardener tried to tell us about).

7:15 am- Finally the business is done and we head back to the studio.

7:25 am- Commence: Sitting In Line

7:50 am- They have us divided into rows and hand us yet another ticket. Then they proceed to tell us that people watching the 1:00 show(us), must return at 8:30 for processing. Great! Yet again, just enough time to do nothing.

9:30 am- They finally finish checking everyone in and begin to do what they said they would start an hour prior. They tell us to sit on a bench.

10:00 am- We are told to switch benches, well progress, right? Wrong. We sit there and do nothing.

10:45 am- We are given our name tags!

11:00 am- The line begins to move!

11:30 am- Our group of 12 gets interviewed by a producer.

11:35 am- We are told to walk around the corner, to find yet again, another bench! Woo!

11:36 am- Hand over all cellular devices, cameras, etc. AKA: cut off from civilization.

12:30 pm- The doors open and we are led inside! It was so fun, and weird at the same time. The studio was TINY!!!!! It was weird because it looks so much bigger on TV. While we wait for the taping to begin, they are playing music and Austin, Katie, Lisa, and I are all standing in our aisle dancing. It was a blast, then "Here's Drew Carey!!!" Don't get me wrong, Bob Barker will always have a place in my heart, but I thought Drew was awesome. He was talking to nearly everyone in the audience and joking around the whole show. Another weird thing, the stage. All show long there were cameras everywhere, obviously, but they were in the middle of the stage and all over the place. It was so funny to see.

2:00 pm- We head out, and decide just to drive home and get food close to home, to beat traffic.

2:07 pm- Quickly realize traffic was kicking our asses. We were going nowhere.

4:15 pm- We get to our front door.

4:25 pm- I pass out.

5:30 pm- Wake up and continue the day.

Overall, as bad as I made it sound, it was an awesome and day. It was so much fun and I can't wait til we do it again when everyone is 18. We had so much fun, laughed all morning long, and had a great time "people watching". It is truly an exhausting experience though, once is enough, for a while anyways.

Lisa if you see this, thanks again for the tickets, can't wait to actually get on the show.

Hasta la bye-bye.

College Application Update #4

Drumroll Please.......

ASU Class of 2012!!!

Woot Woot!

I do not really know if I want to go there or not, I haven't heard bad things about it, but I would like to go check it out, and I think it just might be too big for me. They are one of the only schools that have a guy's swim team so that might be a plus, but they are really fast, so we will see.

Short and Sweet

I have recently been listening to The Postal Service a lot lately. I forgot how amazing they are. You should give them a try if you haven't heard them.

Give Up: One of my favorite cd's of All Time.

They are so good and different from everyone else.
Just thought I'd share.

Boo-Yah-Kah-Cha!

Today was the innaugeration of Derek's snowboarding season of 07-08, and it was fantastic! Austin, Lisa, Mel, and I drove up(completely last minute) to my cabin at 7:45 last night and just crashed there for the night so we could do a whole day of boarding today. So we get up at 6:15 and head up to Bear at about 7:00, just stopping to get a pair of boots for Mel. We boarded from about 8:30-3:30, stopping for about an hour for lunch, it was amazing. It was not too hot and not too cold, it was a little toasty early in the day but it cooled off. Once we were there, we met up with Amanda and her family and boarded with her and her brother. We saw tons of kids from school, the Jackson brothers, Ben Harrison, Kiki G, and C Butt. We saw a car with a Tesoro Cheer sticker but who was in that car will forever be a mystery. All in all, it was a great day and so spur of the moment, which might have been the best part.

I am now in love with my cabin.
If you have a board, let me know and we'll hit the slopes one day.

Some pictures from today:

New Experience

The other day Casey, Tom, Zach, Tony, Austin, Mel, and I went and saw I Am Legend. Overall it was an ok movie; not bad, but not great. Seeing this movie was a new experience for me because it was the first movie I have actually cried in. I do not want to give away how the movie goes in case you were planning on seeing it, so I will not spoil it. At one point(and if you have seen it, you know what part I am talking about) I just lost it, I was not hysterical, but there were definitely tears shed. All I could think of was how much I love Shasta and how amazing of a friend and great companion she has been over the past 15 years. I do not know what I am going to do when she is gone, I will be a MESS, I can tell you that much right now.

Shasta: I love you(even though you will never see this).

So, that is just one more things on my list of things to do in life I can check off.

Things To Do in Life

Cry in a movie: Check
